Have you ever been around someone who makes a mountain out of a mole hill? They can disrupt your day with a single word or action. They thrive on the “if something happens” of life. It is true…. they sure can zap the energy right out of you! Maybe you have a friend like that.
My circle of friends closest to me have changed through the years. Some of that is due to moving away, and some of it is by my choice. I constantly reevaluate that circle too. If my closest friends are not seeking Gods’ face, making questionable decisions or refusing to contribute to the circle, I will replace them with someone who inspires me.
Proverbs 13:20 says “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” I have to admit, I was surrounded by the lesser of the two in my earlier years. Being a follower instead of a leader did not help. How do we change our perspective? It comes by realizing our place in the Kingdom of God.
Once we discover our value in Gods’ eyes, we begin to discover value in others. Choose your friends wisely dear one! The right friends will spur you on to greater works in the Kingdom of God, and love you at times when you are un-loveable. Now that’s a friend! Sounds like Jesus huh?
