Failure is inevitable at times in our lives. When we start learning to walk, run or ride a bike, we seldom get it right the first time. Nevertheless, after falling, we get back up and try again until we succeed. Can you imagine a toddler deciding to give up on walking while choosing to crawl the rest of his life? Sounds a little ridiculous doesn’t it? Regardless, that is how some of us act. Our hopes and dreams have not panned out or we have failed miserably at attempting something new. Some of us just quit, insisting it is too difficult.
Scripture says, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again…,” (Proverbs 24:16a).
Paul admitted that we are persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed. As a child of God, our failures, our sin or our disappointments should never lead us into moments of despair. If we have Christ and His righteousness in us, our failures should cause us to seek out hope, the holder of Hope, for Christ in me is the hope of glory!
So the next time you fall, allow God to pick you up, brush you off, and turn you around….if He must. Once we get back on track with God, we can keep on going!
