“…A time to be silent and a time to speak.” Eccl. 3:7b
For a season, I have delayed sharing my thoughts on many of the issues that I am going to address now. It is with deep compelling sincerity that I believe when we, as a nation, and as God’s people shy away from addressing the ill will of others' actions by remaining compliant to political correctness, that we propitiate our further destruction. When others choose to snuff out goodwill by silencing the remnant, it is time to stand, speak…heck---SHOUT OUT THE TRUTH from the rooftops!!
Since when does the CHURCH coward down to the social stigma placed on her? Since when does a preacher exchange a truth for a lie in hopes of keeping his job and supporting his family? Why must the convicted heart act as if they have no conviction whatsoever to appease a relatively small percentage of people who lack morality and discretion? When the church cloaks her body in defense instead of embracing the opportunity to speak what is lovely, what is pure, what is true, and what is of good repute, she conceals her light on a hill.
Friends, I am not proclaiming my innocence in the matter, but just the opposite, my derelict actions of silence. Social media has created a whole new breed, a whole new generation of political correctness. Don’t believe me? Listen---we’re not in Kansas anymore Toto! Corruption at the top has trickled down for decades, and now we stand as if we are astonished at the crumbling of our society. We have allowed others to induce their edicts upon us, and now make us a slave to their every whim, instead of having a government that is supposed to be for the people and by the people! Have we forgotten that their job is to work for us?
Let’s look at the CHURCH now and her pinnacle of prestige and pulpit empires. She emulates very little from her original state. She no longer meets in homes, feeds the hungry, cares for the widows, fellowships with one another or for the most part, even gets out of bed. She is tired, weak and worn out from trying to build bigger sanctuaries and cathedrals and raising money for every effort under heaven. Some of her works are good indeed, but many of them fail in comparison to the early church and the Followers of the Way. This is because agenda’s and expectations are placed on her from society, and her bridal gown has become stained with the blood of bickering and compromise, forgetting the precious blood of her Savior Jesus Christ.
No more silence dear ones! John the Baptist was commissioned as we are to “make a way for the Lord.” Do not turn that around to make a way for yourself as so many have in these last days! Let us believe that God will straighten out the path before us and lift our light BRIGHTLY once again over this darkened land. Let us reach out to one another and to those who need so desperately to hear the message of HOPE and Salvation. OPEN YOUR MOUTH CHURCH! Our silence is so deafening and repugnant to God! Let us REPENT of our indignant hearts and our inability to recognize our own sin, for how can we help others out of the miry pit, when we too our sliding headlong down the slope of silence.
“For those who have ears to hear…”
