At times, we can be in a crowd and feel all alone. No one is talking to us or even acknowledging our existence. In the Church, we can feel the same way…only talented or well-known people are approached by others of the same, while the quiet ones, sit back and observe. It can make one feel pretty unwanted or not even needed.
The church in Corinth may have struggled with this issue too as Paul related the spiritual body of believers to the physical body. In 1 Corinthians 12:21 we read, “The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!"
Truth is, mankind has learned to overcome the loss of a member, (a hand, an eye, or an arm) and still remain successful. However. The Body of Christ cannot function without everyone doing what they are called to do, and no one else can do what God designed you to do! From the janitor to the preacher and everywhere in between, everyone has a gift, a calling, a place to serve in Christ. Some are jealous of those whose callings are more upfront. I heard a very wise man say one time, “If God calls you to be a garbage man, don’t stoop to be a KING.” God has created you for such a time as this…so get out there!
