My husband has a metal detector. You know….one of those tools that you scan the ground with looking for something of value? If you own one, than you know that at times you can find junk, and at other times treasures. On the other hand, sometimes we find treasure assuming it is junk.
If we were honest, when we look at others, it is difficult to see right away what their value may be. Perhaps they’re wearing old clothes, or have not bathed. What makes us so judgmental of another’s worth? The Word says “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;” (2 Cor. 4:7) NAS. In reality, how can others see the value we behold if we never uncover the spiritual treasure within, allowing others to see?
Isn’t it comforting to know that our value is not what others’ see, but our value is in knowing that Our Heavenly Father fearfully and wonderfully made us, and not one of His creations is considered junk.
