Have you ever been anxious while awaiting on an outcome to something? Whether it be a job acceptance, a gift, or a new arrival in the family, it all requires patience and a passage of time. As we grow older, most of us become endowed with patience. Perhaps we have learned the value of savoring precious moments and events. I can look back at special moments of my life and remember the sweetness of those times in which I waited and longed for the arrival.
Jesus was speaking to His disciples when he said a time is coming when you will long to see the Son of Man. However, He left them with a clear warning, "They will say to you, 'Look there! Look here!' Do not go away, and do not run after them.” Luke 17:23 NASB.
Impatience can make us believe anything. Let us not be so impatient for His return that we fall for those who say, “Look there!” Let us savor the thought while preparing ourselves rightly for the day of Jesus’ return. Oh how very sweet that day will be!
