While we speculate over the current news, search for biblical directions that pinpoint current affairs, discuss, distrust, and become dismayed at news events, we must all remember that regardless of what we see with our eyes, we are COMMANDED to live by faith. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Living by faith may be the most necessary tool of every believer. Sure, the top news events can rattle our chains, set us off course, and disrupt our sleep, and more. We can either choose to live in faith or live in fear.
You see, faith cannot work in an atmosphere of fear or “atmos-fear”. We must surround ourselves with an atmosphere of faith or “atmos-faith,” so as to create a conducive environment for faith to work effectively! How do we approach the issue?
Remove Every Barrier: Jesus cleared a room out of mourners as they made fun of him for saying, “Don't cry; the child is not dead—she is only sleeping!” Jesus only allowed FAITH to be in the house with him (Peter, John, James, Jairus and Jairus’ wife) and told the mourners to leave Jairus’ home for there was no need for their services.
“While Jesus was saying this, a messenger came from the official's house. “Your daughter has died,” he told Jairus; “don't bother the Teacher any longer.”
But Jesus heard it and said to Jairus, “Don't be afraid; only believe, and she will be well.”
When he arrived at the house, he would not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John, and James, and the child's father and mother. Everyone there was crying and mourning for the child. Jesus said, “Don't cry; the child is not dead—she is only sleeping!”
They all made fun of him, because they knew that she was dead. But Jesus took her by the hand and called out, “Get up, child!” Her life returned, and she got up at once…” (Luke 8: 49-55a) GNT
Speak Life: Jesus spoke out “Get up, child!” His words were few but mighty. There was no long exhortation, no praying of, “Lord if it is your will…,” or any doubt shown at this moment. Just a simple ---GET UP! Did you get that? Faith must GET UP ---AND WAKE UP to experience miracles. In addition, FAITH does not retract words by saying, “I hope God does it.” Faith says, “God did it!”
Faithlessness Enjoys Company: Refuse to cater to others who are duped by what they see or hear. Walk with others who live by faith, not by sight!
In this past week alone, we witnessed a plethora of events happen in our nation and worldwide that could cause us to waiver in our faith:
JESUS IS STILL ON HIS THRONE AND LORD OF ALL!
When we walk in ATMOS-FAITH, we do not entertain moments faithlessness. We know God is watching over his own, and we can live according to the faith instilled in us. We can say good-bye to ATMOS-FEAR and open the door of ATMOS-FAITH every day of our lives!
To live victoriously we MUST choose to live in ATMOS-FAITH!

As the holidays begin and we find ourselves immersed in the culture of Christmas shopping, and cooking our favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, there is no doubt that we have learned how to celebrate the season in all of its glory! However, in the midst of all our fanfare regarding the holiday’s ahead, are we shining the LIGHT that represents the reason for our celebrations?
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”(Matt. 5: 16)
Once we became a Kingdom heir, we also were given the gift of the Holy Spirit, allowing us to become a reflection of His love to the world. What are we doing with that gift? I tell you now that some are using that gift as an opportunity to argue with the world or to condemn others and make those around them feel guilty for how they celebrate the season. Some use their light to boast about their gift, instead of imparting their gift to others. We see it on the platforms of big churches, in the market places, at school, at work, in social media or just about any place where they can make their light seem better than those around them.
As a child of the Light, we have but one requirement; to SHINE. You see, light never needs to argue with the darkness to shine. For an example let us look at the light switch. Modern homes have light switches in every room so as to flick on the light at once, to remove the darkness. Instantaneously the light overcomes the darkness, without contention. It does not compete with anyone or anything to shine bright; nor does it take hours, days and weeks to struggle with the darkness around it to produce its purpose. It just shines!
Truth is: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1: 5)
Why do we find ourselves competing with one another as to who is shining the brightest, the best or the prettiest? As God’s children, we all possess the same ability to shine equally, but why is it that there are those around us who choose to hide their light?
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house.” (Matthew 5: 14) NKV
Jesus was and is called the LIGHT that came in the darkness. Now, He is saying to us, as his followers, that WE are the light of the world. Have we been responsible with our assignment as to shine the light of Christ to those around us, or are we hiding our faith or light out of embarrassment in the midst of a dark world?
There is no greater opportunity to be a light to this world than during the holidays. Thanksgiving allows us to be thankful for God’s provision year round, and Christmas gives us opportunity to be eternally grateful for His provision of everlasting life. In the midst of turkey, pumpkins, then on to Christmas trees and lights, snowmen and Santa Claus we can find opportunities. We discover that we can use all of these modern day icons as opportunities to shine our light instead of opposing how others celebrate, choosing to dim our light in the process.
Let us shine our light, share the Gospel brightly and learn to take advantage of opportunities throughout the season to give thanks publically for the gift of LIGHT! You see, when we choose to stop arguing as to whether someone should have a Christmas tree or not and choose to shine our light regardless, we will find those attracted to the LIGHT in us; perhaps, consequently persuading them to draw near to the Christ child and our Lord and Savior more appropriately than we ever will when we choose to fight to shine our light!
Let us remember that light naturally shines in the darkness, and elect to uncover our light for all those to see. We do not need to struggle to shine our light, we just SHINE!
Tell me, is there any better SEASON to SHINE than in this wonderful time of the year?

GETTING YOUR WORSHIP ON?
Frankly, some reading this right now, have laid daily worship of God aside in their lives. They find it unnecessary or even lack the desire to worship God as He should be adored.
One afternoon, after I had led worship at a church event, a woman came up to me and said, “I can tell that you worship God every day, as it came through in your worship here today.”
I exclaimed, “Praise God!”
You see, when we worship God, it take us high up into the heavens, leading us to the feet of Him who sits on the throne. Let us remember that Satan himself had but one desire, and that was to be worshiped like God, and if you have read the rest of the record, you can see what that got him!
I believe as a Christian that we will never understand all of the power, all of the mysteries or all of the authority given to us when we begin to worship God.
Firstly let us seek to understand what true worship does for the heart of God.
We do not have to go far to see what the power of worship has done and continued to do in the life of a believer.
Worship Positions Us to See the POWER of God in Our Lives
When doom was impending, King Jehoshaphat saw the deliverance of the Lord after listening to Jahaziel, God’s prophet,
"You will not need to fight in this battle," God's message through Jahaziel continued. "Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you!" (2 Chronicles 20:17)
If you read on you will witness God set up an ambush against their enemies when THEY CHOSE TO WORSHIP HIM as He commanded. Without lifting a sword, they were declared the victors’ of battle.
Fast forward and we see Paul and Silas chained in a prison cell.
“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” (Acts 16: 25-26)
Just in these two examples we see God set up an ambush against the enemies of Jehoshaphat and the prison chains latched around Paul and Silas fall useless to the floor. When we choose obedient worship of God over our circumstances, we too realize the power of it in our lives!
Can We Come To A Full Understanding Of Worship This Side of Heaven?
We have already seen the effectiveness of worship for those who obediently praise God in the midst. I believe that when we worship God, as commanded in the book of John, and that is in Spirit and Truth, that the supernatural is made readily available to us!
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.” (John 4:23)
Let me ask you, “Have you have ever been in a worship service and witnessed a holy-hush fall over the congregation or gatherers?”
I have many times, and in that sweet moment, it is safe to realize deliverance of demons, healing for the sick, revelation to the seekers and prophetic utterance from the prophet of God. It is a moment of awe and wonder; a moment to remain still and know that He is God.
Worship Bathed In Praise Covers and Equips Us for Spiritual Warfare!
Those who understand Godly precedence over demonic forces understand that worship and praise are an intricate part of spiritual warfare. I would go as far as to say that a person possessing a deficit of WORSHIP & PRAISE in their lives quickly find themselves rendered powerless and lack the wisdom to overcome the enemy. You see, we cannot as believers have the power needed within us to cast out demons without first possessing a spirit that worships God regularly.
Jesus said, “But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” (Luke 11:20)
Want to be able to drive out demons effectively and walk in the blessings laid up for you by God? Learn to worship God and see Him move mountains as you point the finger of God into your life’s situations. We do this through unadulterated worship and praise!
I have taught on, written about and lived my life using the armor of God as spoken about in Ephesians 6. It is imperative to realize, however, that unless we understand all of the weapons of our warfare, used in conjunction with HIS armor that we might fail. One of those weapons is WORSHIP AND PRAISE! Worship can set the captive free, deliver us from darkness, and change the atmosphere around us! Worship is a very real, a very needed and a very intricate part of the believers’ life. If you find a powerless Christian, you find one that has forgotten the power of worship and praise.
Let us apply our Godly armor, with worship and praise and then we will stand confident in knowing that no weapon formed against shall prosper!

Some will argue that changing their destiny is unperceivable as well as non-permitted, as if it is carved in stone. Anybody who has encountered a major disappointment in life can testify as to just how frustrating life is at times.
The complexity to our destiny is often conceived by our lack of understanding the natural and supernatural components that alter or control our lives. Some consider destiny equivalent to fate. In doing so, they may even believe in luck and leave ‘the will of God’ completely out of the equation.
What is Fate?
Fate is an event or a course of events that inescapably happen in our future. Fate is unchangeable when we think about where we were born and what family we are a part of. However, our fate can be altered by our actions. For instance, if we choose to do drugs, one day we will die from an overdose at a much younger age than one who chooses not to abuse drugs. When devastation strikes both the young and innocent, this is when people begin to think God as being unfair. If we read the Bible, we know that we possess no guarantee for tomorrow.
What will be will be, lies within the hearts of some, and so they choose never to intervene with fate. They lay down their life goals. For instance, folks who have an issue with weight control may use their unhealthy low metabolism as a reason to eat themselves into the Guinness Book of World Records. The truth is that there are plenty of resources to get back on track, but unless we utilize them, indeed, fate will control us.
Luck VS. God’s Will
The lottery system thrives on those who perceive luck as being in their favor. They believe that a supernatural bias allows good or bad fortune to come their way. When I was growing up, my Mama used to tell us never to put our feet on the table, or the person who sat there would die. Luck is equivalent to superstition, in that those who believe in it, fail to recognize God’s will in the matter.
God’s will includes the understanding that God is the Creator and is in control of His creation. To understand our destiny, we must know what God has destined for us. Many of us forget about, ‘Seek Ye First’ the Kingdom of God’. Can God change our fate or destiny? You bet He can as He has in many of our lives! If you want to know what God’s plan is for your life, it will take some serious work on your behalf.
Seeking Gods’ Guidance Daily
We live in a world where people are seeking guidance from mediums, talk show hosts, peers, co-workers; just about anyone but God.
What is the solution? Perhaps we should be following the Biblical Golden Rule:
"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" (Luke 11:9).
It is going to take us, as believers, laying aside our beliefs in fate and luck, and start realizing that God, who predestined our creation before the foundation of the earth, has a unique plan and purpose for our lives. It is not that difficult as a Christian to grasp the concept that the SUPERNATURAL intervenes in our lives moment by moment if we choose to seek Him in obedience. However, the door to God’s purpose and will for your life is never opened----that is unless you seek, and then knock.
The Bible is filled with promises for Gods’ children, but far too many pass up on seeking Him, and thus they never realize their full potential in Christ. Don’t be left trying to figure out your destiny alone. God never intended for you to live your life apart from His love, grace and purpose. All of this and more is freely given to those who dare to seek!
