Once in a great while you pick up a book that has such an impact on you that you have to tell others about it. Recently I finished a new novel called “Redemption” by Christina Simpson. I have to say that it was nothing like I expected! The author took a very difficult subject matter in regard to human trafficking and skillfully wrote about it in a tasteful manner. I have to admit I never understood all that went on behind the scenes in human trafficking, especially sex trafficking. I could not put the book down! It was a very moving read that I believe every law enforcement officer should read as well as those working in rape or crisis intervention services.
The book itself brings to light a very real threat globally that is often ignored or shoved under the rug. I love how the author has written a novel that makes this crime understandable and brings it to the surface of culture so that we can begin to help those involved.
Recently Dove Award winning singer and songwriter Kari Jobe married. In her wedding she wore a special bracelet to remind others of girls stuck in human trafficking and who need to be rescued. I believe, unless we as believers do not get involved in sex trafficking awareness that an entire generation of women and girls are in a danger.

Moses was called by God to lead the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt. Because he doubted how God was going to help him do this, God supplied him with a staff that worked miraculous signs in order to persuade Pharaoh to let God’s people go. He also sent Aaron to be Moses mouthpiece on behalf of God. Once God appeased Moses’ excuses for not following His command to go, Moses had nothing left, but to obey.
Today, we do not need a miracle working staff to perform great feats for the Kingdom of God. Today, we have HIS WORD to stand upon, to lean on and to trust in. Whenever I sense that I am being pushed into a corner by my situations or others, I use God’s WORD for deliverance!
Lack of Knowledge in Using the Word of God
Many believers lack knowledge when it comes to using Gods’ WORD. Their lives are a testimony of their inability to stand on His promises. They remain defeated in just about every area of their lives whether it be financially, physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. A deficit of the WORD of God can always be found in those who are lacking. It hurts me to see others suffer unnecessarily because they have the keys to the kingdom of God, and yet fail to use them appropriately.
The Powerful Tool of Binding and Loosing Works Today!
For instance, Matthew 18:18 is one of the most powerful keys to living in the kingdom of God that I have ever used. The WORD says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” I use this scripture when life’s circumstances began to close in on me or when others in the church are being afflicted. Why? Because it works! No matter what our situation, we can bind up Satan spiritually and loose God’s Holy Spirit into the center of that issue and find resolve.
This is why Jesus said, “Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.” (Matt. 12:29).
Friends, we have forgotten that we have the keys to the Kingdom of God to bind up the strongman of sin and to loose the blessings of God in our lives! Just like Moses used the staff of God to bring down plagues upon Egypt, we can use God’s WORD to bind up Satan and to release the blessings over God’s children. We have no excuses left when it comes to setting others free, including ourselves. Jesus paid the ultimate price on the cross, and the WORD says, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
Many people, even believers are struggling to obtain a 'peace of mind' these days. The world news along with impending stories of doom have caused us to retreat from our regular routines, pull away from the House of Worship, and eventually become powerless against the enemy. How can it be prevented?
A common technique in war is to gain mind control. If Satan can get us thinking about our problems, our guilt, or any other issues, then he can stop us from remembering WHO can solve them. That is why scripture says, “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26: 3)
Hopeless and helpless thoughts lead to hopeless and helpless lives! Cut off the sources that cause your mind to invite such thought patterns in and begin to worship God. When you do, you will discover the peace that the Father promises only to His own.
